Our President, Betsy Alberts will host a social event for the benefit of the club at her club house at The Ridge in Fair Oaks. Wine tasting and Sparkling Cider tasting will be included.

September Board Meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept 17th starting at 6pm, 5:30pm appetizers.  All members are welcome to attend, please let Betsy know if you plan on attending!

The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks is once again honored to be selected as the host for the beer and wine boothes at the 20th Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival, this year in Fair Oaks Park.

We need volunteers to:

• help pick up kegs, tents, tables & chairs before  the event (Fri 9/19)

• set up tents, tables & chairs before the event (Sat 9/20 9am)

• pour beer & wine during shifts during the event (Sat 9/20 noon -6pm)

• clean up and load tents, tables & chairs after the event (Sat 9/20 6pm)

• help return kegs, tents, tables and chairs (Mon 9/21)

Our goal is to have volunteers identified prior to Sept 1.  Please contact one of us for more details or to volunteer!

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

The Alzheimer Association is a resource partner for the Alzheimer's Dementia Rotary Action Group (ADRAG) and is proud to announce that ADRAG will be a Walk to End Alzheimer's National Team for the 4th year in a row! Last year, over 260 Rotary groups across the country signed up and raised over $500,000 to help with the fight against Alzheimer's.

Let's see how many members can sign up to walk this year, or sponsor someone who does!

Join friends who love playing cards and other games at the Woman’s Thursday Club, 10625 Fair Oaks Blvd, FO (WTC building).  Bring a snack to share.

The Fair Oaks Rotary will be hosting the Beer & Wine concession at the Grand Opening of the Village Park on family day.  This will be a perfect opportunity to promote membership and show our support for the opening of the park.  The Beer & Wine concession will be chaired by Debbie Kesseling and Alida Bray.  If you’d like to help with that area, contact them.  If you’d like to help with the Membership portion, contact Katie Yount.

The October Board meeting will be held in conjunction with the District Governor visit prior to our regular club meeting on Octover 27th.

Save the date now for this annual event that will take place in the Fair Oaks Village. This year, it will be hosted by Fair Oaks Park, but we will do our traditional merchant Trick or Treating for the kids and book giveaway. Our chair is Val Morrison.

Our speaker will be Vicki May from Starting Point for Refugee Children.  Starting Point works to support recently resettled refugee children with special projects and community programs.

This is fun for the family, friends and neighbors of the Fair Oaks Cemetery.  Open House style-- come anytime between the hours mentioned for Bonfire, Tea lights, Hot Chocolate, and S’mores.

3 tables are reserved for our Club.  Let’s fill up our tables! 

Cost is $85 per person.  Your dinner choice is: Rosemary Apple Chicken Breast, Braised Bee Brisket with Red Wine Sauce or Vegetarian/Vegan will be Butternut Squash and Potato Gallette.  VIP Reception is 5:30- 6:30pm, Doors open at 6pm, at the Citrus Heights Community Center. 

It’s an evening of District celebration.

Our speaker will be Jenn Schuler, from the Fair Oaks Village Arts Committee.  She will update us on the exciting upcoming events in the village center.

Our speaker is Maja Biggs, regional recruiter for the peace corps. She will be speaking about the important work they do and volunteer opportunities for all age groups, especially businesses and retirees. Maja believes the missions of Rotary and the Peace Corp align closely.

From volunteering with the Rotary Club of Grass Valley to serving as a current RI Board Member, Wyn Soiller will be sharing her long history of serving others and the inspiration she has gained in Rotary by participating in immunization days in India & numerous hospital projects in Mexico & Uganda 

She has  served in numerous leadership roles with special commitments to peace building & youth programs.

Our speaker will be Jackie Simon, Community Relations Coordinator for CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates.  This organization fosters children by advocating for safe and permanent homes, identifying and addressing urgent needs, and developing permanent connections within communities to ensure that support will continue even after a youth has left foster care.
