Brenda Johnson is a 41 year veteran of the high tech industry who is on a mission to protect small businesses from cyber attack.  She holds the CISSP certification (Certified Information Security Services Professional), and is currently the US Sales Manager for SKADI Cyber Defense, an organization dedicated solely to small business needs.  Small businesses account for over 80% of all ransomware attacks in the US today, so the need for her mission is great.

This women’s vocational event will be at Fair Oaks Park April 3rd 5pm to 8pm and it’s in conjunction with the Fair Oaks Park and Rec Food Truck Mania Night. The event celebrates women in business. There will be women owned vendors and lots of amazing food trucks. All are welcome to come to shop and eat 😊  Our club will have a booth there so Doris needs a few more women volunteers to represent the women of Rotary.

This luncheon will be held at Christian Brothers High School, 4315 Martin Luther King Blvd, Sacramento from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. We are supporting Suzann Gostovich's annual luncheon for the students and families in the Hope Neighborhood Learning Center, her outreach to marginally housed children. Rotary will be providing and preparing the food for about 100 guests. We need volunteers to purchase and bring the food to their site. We served lasagna, macaroni and cheese, salad, and rolls last year. It was well received and not much prep.

Join Marcia Eymann as she shares how this 501c3 nonprofit organization focuses on creating a place where those who are 22 years and older and have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can come together and realize their full potential as adults. Infinite Friends is a place where everyone knows one another, a place where they feel at home and more importantly where they want to be.

Rotaplast Rotary International India Project

Jim & Diana Cralle will do a presentation on their experience in India & involvement with Rotaplast project.

This is a special, optional pre-board meeting to review the results of the preliminary year-end financial review and budget analysis conducted by Financial Review Committee.

On May 5 Andrew Saunders will give us an overview of the Lincoln Highway, the first transcontinental automobile route, cobbled together in 1913 from road segments across America.  His focus on the route in our locale will include the alternate segment that traversed Orangevale, Fair Oaks and Citrus Heights, and what is planned to memorialize that segment with signage. Andrew is a member of the Lincoln Highway Association, as well as the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights, and recently made a similar presentation to the Orangevale Historical Society.

Join Eric Seider, an international permaculture consultant, designer, and educator with a wealth of experience in the most demanding environments across the globe, as he explains why he co-founded Permaculture Fair Oaks in 2024. This nonprofit permaculture community group has a mission of working with nature to create sustainable human habitats and food systems. Permaculture Fair Oaks is interested in collaborating with individuals and groups like Rotary to create demonstration gardens showcasing suburban food production.

Jackeline Aguilar, Regional Coordinator for Get On The Bus Sacramento, will explain how they provide support to families with incarcerated loved ones.

Get On The Bus (GOTB) is a statewide prison visiting program that educates hundreds of volunteers and supporters throughout California and engages the community to raise awareness about the plight of children with a parent in prison.

Get On The Bus advocates for the right of children to see, touch, and talkto their parent who is incarcerated.
