What Have We Been Up To?
25 Year Rotary Members Honored

Four New Members Join Rotary Club of Fair Oaks
 
 
The 2023-2024 Rotary Club Year has gotten off to a wonderful start as we have added 4 new members to the club in recent weeks.  These new Rotarians are excited to be joining a group devoted to charitable giving and community service in Fair Oaks.  Our new members are Ree Judge, Doug Steffen, Howard Homler and Twyla Teitzel.   (pictured here L-R are Dave Claugus, Cindy Woods, Doug Steffen, Alice Rowe, Ree Judge, Beth Wilcoxen and Katie Yount.)

New President Dave Claugus Takes the Helm
 
On July 10th, new president Dave Claugus took the helm of his 1st meeting of the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks.  Dave introduced his theme for the year, 'Back To The Future' which indicates that the club needs to concentrate on getting back to where we would be had it not been for the Covid pandemic.  The pandemic kept us apart, now we need to get back together, by volunteering to serve in some capacity in the club and in the community.  We need to get 100% participation by all members, and if we can, we all become better for it, and the club and community with thrive.

BBQ, Boots and Brew a Hit!
 
We had a country hoedown on May 27th, as over 180 guests joined us for the 1st ever BBQ, Boots & Brew, benefiting our foundation and the great work we do.  A wonderful country atmosphere filled the evening as guests indulged in Texas Roadhouse grub, listened to Brisco County belt out the country favorites, and enjoyed games galore.  There was even a mechanical bull for all to enjoy!

It’s official—the Rotaract Club has been Chartered
 
 
Congratulations to our President, Mazzy Chirwa, for her persistent work and collaboration with Meristem to make this happen. These proud new 11 founding members are excited to start a new chapter in our District.
 
The Club was formally inducted on April 27th by our District Governor, Karen Cendro. The officers are: President, Noah Wright, Treasurer, Steven Mecklenburg, Secretary, Frederick Ha and PR , Tara Abraham. Counselor Eric Steward of Meristem and former Rotarian himself, will continue to work with this Club to help it grow.
